Description
City bike for everyday use
Batavus has developed a city bike you can use for all your rides. The Finez is suitable for commuting, shopping and touring. Thanks to its high-quality specifications, the Batavus Finez will bring you lots of cycling fun.
If you are looking for a good all-round city bike, this just might be the ideal bike for you.
Technology
Stiff frameThe frame of the Batavus Finez has been developed in collaboration with Delft University of Technology. This collaboration has enabled Batavus to make the frame rigid for good balance and direct handling.
A real winner
The Batavus Finez city bike won the 2020 Bike of the Year award. It was described as the ideal all-rounder. In our view, this description was more than apt. The frame as well as the gears let you pedal away with little effort and much fun just about anywhere. Batavus has selected Shimano’s Nexus 7 hub for the Finez. These 7 gears have a combined gear range of 244% to allow you to find the right gear even on undulating terrain. This Finez model does not have a suspension fork, which makes for excellent handling.
Road safety
Batavus has developed a new lighting system that increases your visibility in traffic. The Vizi light projects a safe zone behind the bike which inspires other road users to keep their distance as they overtake you. The lights are powered by a hub dynamo and have a running light function. Thus, the light continues to run for some time when you are standing still. The hydraulic disc brakes also provide additional safety with their enormous braking power and good modulation. They also perform very well in wet weather.
Finishing touch
A requirement for a city bike is that it can be parked; with the sturdy one-legged kickstand you can park your bike easily, and with the Abus ring lock you can park it safely. You can use the luggage rack and carrier straps for easy transportation of any luggage.

Good bike
Very good bike. Nice timeless design that cycles nicely too. The 7 gears are well set up, with a fine interval between each gear. After about 10 days I noticed that the rear brake in particular makes a stiff and squeaky noise. I don't know if this is normal or leads to a bigger defect, I hope not!

Good service, problem could have been reported however.
Bike was delivered with a Panasonic front brake instead of a shimano front brake due to delivery problems at Shimano, delivery time now 300 days. Panasonic brake creaks, scrapes and squeaks, not nice. Problem was known at Mantel, not discussed at delivery. Mantel did offer a solution, choose another bike or later replace the Panasonic brake with a Shimano brake. Hope for compensation. Nicely and kindly helped at service desk, employee found it very annoying.
